Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Latisha Gee Torres, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, mindfulness teacher, and wellness coach with over 20 years of experience helping people heal from emotional wounds and reconnect with themselves. My practice is rooted in the belief that therapy should be a safe and affirming space—especially for those who’ve spent much of their lives feeling unseen, unheard, or burdened by the need to always be strong.

I specialize in working with Black women and adult children of emotionally unavailable or addicted caregivers—folks who often struggle with anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or relational trauma. Many of my clients appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck inside.

My approach blends evidence-based therapy with mindfulness and coaching. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic strategies, and trauma-informed care in a way that’s personalized, culturally responsive, and deeply supportive. Our work together is collaborative—you set the pace, and I walk beside you with compassion, curiosity, and intention.

Clients often describe our sessions as grounding, eye-opening, and a space where they can finally let go of “performing” and be real. I also offer post-session reflections, between-session support via secure messaging, and personalized practices to help you stay connected to your growth.

Outside of therapy, I’m a mother, a dog lover, and a Brooklyn native with a deep respect for resilience, softness, and the courage it takes to heal. If you’re ready to reclaim your voice, honor your needs, and step into a more aligned version of yourself—I’m here to support you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is relational, holistic, and trauma-informed. I blend evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness, somatic strategies, and coaching to support deep, lasting healing. I believe therapy should be a collaborative and culturally responsive process—one that honors your full story, not just your symptoms.

I specialize in working with Black women and adult children of emotionally unavailable or addicted caregivers, and I recognize how often survival strategies like people-pleasing, perfectionism, and emotional suppression show up as anxiety, depression, or feeling stuck. In our work, we’ll gently explore those patterns, reconnect with your emotional truth, and build tools that support self-trust, boundaries, and healing from the inside out.

Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about creating space to rediscover the parts of you that have been silenced, forgotten, or put on hold in service of others.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with greater clarity, emotional awareness, and practical tools they can use in everyday life. Together, we explore not just what’s happening on the surface, but the deeper patterns, beliefs, and survival strategies that may be keeping you stuck. You’ll gain a better understanding of your triggers, learn how to regulate your nervous system, and start setting boundaries that honor your needs—not just your roles.

My clients often say they feel seen, supported, and gently challenged. You’ll walk away with language for what you're feeling, insight into why you respond the way you do, and encouragement to show up for yourself with more compassion and courage. Over time, this work leads to more emotional freedom, grounded decision-making, and a stronger connection to your authentic self.
