Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm LaToya. With over 18 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse fields, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their unique journeys. My educational background includes a BA in Sociology from UMES, a BA in Social Work from Salisbury University, an MA in Clinical Psychology from Towson University, and a Post-Masters in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I am also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Board-Approved Supervisor, as well as a Board-Approved Drug & Alcohol Counselor Supervisor (LCADC).

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, from youth as young as 8 years old to adults up to 85 years old. My experience spans various settings, including individual, couple, family, and group counseling, as well as EAP services and substance abuse counseling. I have worked in male and female adult detention centers, youth detention facilities, maximum security prisons, public schools, emergency rooms, inpatient behavioral health units, and family court systems, providing court-ordered supervision and mediation sessions. Additionally, I have operated my own private mental health practice.

My approach to therapy

I believe that with the right support, everyone is capable of having a new beginning in life, regardless of their past or current circumstances. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to helping my clients achieve their goals. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, family or intimate relationship issues, life transitions, multicultural and diversity issues, perinatal support, or stress.

What you can expect from me

I am here to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for you to explore your past/current challenges; so that we can work on overcoming them TOGETHER. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you, and support you on your journey towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
