Great to meet you!

I have been a therapist for more than 25 years, having graduated with my master's degree in 1998, and I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings.

I have evolved into a trauma therapist over the past 15 years, working in addictions / dual diagnosis programs and crisis intervention units. I understand the impact that trauma has on one's development, one's life, one's relationship, and one's brain.

I will accept you for where you are at today and I will walk with you on your journey to healing and recovery. I am patient and I believe in a holitistic approach to the entire person: mind, body, spirit.

I currently work with individuals between the ages of 18-64 and I have helped many people work through the transitional times in their lives.

I also have extensive experience / training in compulsive behaviors; which symptoms can be noted in the behaviors related to alcohol / drug use, relationship with food / body issues/ exercise, and ruminations of the mind / thoughts / perceptions that have caused disruptions in one's life.

I am compassionate, understanding, and accepting and I will also challenge the contradictions being presented and support the process of change you are seeking.

My approach to therapy

I am licensed in Indiana, Michigan, Tennesee, Florida, California, and Washington as a mental health counselor / professional clinical counselor and I am trained in EMDR, brain spotting, cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as other modalities to help support the treatment goal established by the client. I have been doing telehealth since the pandemic to better meet my clients' needs.

We seem to live in a world full of judgment and recriminations and it's easy to lose oneself in the choas and confusion of daily life.

I will meet you where you are today - I will ask questions and listen intently to your responses - I will challenge and I will support - and I will guide you to achieving your treatment goals.

What you can expect from me

Clients may take away a sense of being heard and understood as well as seen for who they are this day. Clients will hear a different perspective or they will experience an affirmation of feelings or emotional responses. Clients will be respected and honored for what they share in the therapeutic hour. Client may experience a sense of relief after the first session, as well as a sense of "hope."
