Great to meet you!

In today’s world, it’s easy to feel like you’re caught in a relentless stream of news, media, and opinions—spinning faster than you can catch your breath. Many of my clients describe it as being stuck in a hamster wheel: exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed, and unsure how to step off. With 25 years of clinical experience with adolescents, adults, and couples, and families, I work to create a grounded, non-judgmental, supportive space where you can slow down, untangle your thoughts, and reconnect with what truly matters to you. Together, we’ll find tools and perspectives that help you regain a sense of agency, calm, and clarity in the midst of constant noise and absurdity.

My approach to therapy

My decades long experience has reinforced my overall therapeutic approach which is to meet each client where he/she/they may be at at any given time. In other words, I believe that like life, the therapeutic process is fluid. Although therapeutic goals may be identified in a linear context, the path to achieving those goals must allow for sufficient flexibility such that a client’s immediate emotional needs and/or problems can also be addressed. In adopting this type of clinical methodology, my hope is that my clients will feel able to voice any urgent challenges without apprehension of judgment or self-reproach. Finally, I have found that this type of direct, participatory and adaptable working environment has resulted in increased client success and overall satisfaction with the therapeutic experience.

What you can expect from me

My overriding goal for all my clients is to provide a safe, empathic, collaborative, and relaxed atmosphere in which they will be able to speak openly without the fear of judgment. With routine validation, an exchange of ideas, mutual respect, and a focus on each client’s individual strengths and creativity, it is my hope that every client will gain greater insight, a deeper personal understanding of themselves and their relationships, and an enhanced ability to live life more authentically and successfully. Ultimately, my hope is that each client will work courageously to take accountability and apply newly learned wisdom in an effort to develop alternative decision making skills and coping strategies that may serve their current needs and goals more effectively and that will continue to evolve with them over time.
