Great to meet you!

I have lived in Hawaii for 12 years now and am originally from New York State. My dad lived on Kauai my whole life so my connections and roots are here. In my personal time, I love to take care of animals, eat healthy, and enjoy the island. I believe that mental health is a whole body and system approach. I have worked with children and adolescents my entire career. My presence has been strong in the school system so I know how to navigate that culture and those rules as well.

My approach to therapy

Supportive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. Each person is on their own journey with their treatment plan and life. I am there to support and offer treatment strategies and a non-judgmental ear to help you reach your treatment goals. When working with children and adolescents, I tend to focus on building their strengths, self awareness, and confidence to help them navigate their world. I also like to integrate the parent role into session when beneficial to the child’s growth.

What you can expect from me

Open ended questions to see how I can best support them on the treatment process. Building rapport is essential in therapy especially when working with children and adolescents. Sometimes it may take quite a few sessions before you or your child may be willing to open up. I am patient and understanding with this process when working with this age group.
