Great to meet you!

My name is Leila Kandahari, and I have ten years of experience providing mental health services for individuals seeking independence, quality of life, and social justice who are also diagnosed with a mental health condition or/and substance use disorder. I count it as a privilege to be invited to walk with individuals as they navigate some of their most vulnerable moments and significant life events.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist and social worker, I have practiced in various public, private, and non-profit settings. I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally competent framework that guides my work and values. In my practice, I meet individuals and start their journey from “where they are.” I believe the therapeutic alliance between clinician and client is vital, and I enter their world right from that spot “where they are.“

What you can expect from me

I use evidence-based modalities and tailor those to everyone’s needs. I believe it is crucial to use a treatment approach that meets an individual’s specific needs. What I like the most about my work is that it has helped me to develop as a person. I do not only help my clients to achieve desired changes and grow, but they will also help me grow while we go through every journey together.
