Great to meet you!

I work with people who are living with depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizo-affective disorder, adjustment disorder or are going through difficulties and need assistance moving towards a better way of life. I enjoy working with people to manage symptoms, stress and the everyday challenges of dealing with a mental health issue.

In my spare time I enjoy art, creativity, music, dance, acting and writing. I work with crystals, candles, oracle cards, but am also grounded in science. I do a lot of mindfulness.

I am a member of the MAMCD, the Maryland Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development as well as MASERVIC, the Maryland Association of Spiritual, Ethical, Religious Values in Counseling.

My approach to therapy

I am person-centered and trust that many of the answers you need are already within you and that we can find viable ways to implement the use of your knowledge and mine. I also focus on what can be done now as you move forward in life and put energy towards your goals. Using Positive Psychology, we build a foundation of the best parts of yourself and your life and change the thought process to look for more positive aspects.

I use CBT with inclusion of DBT and ACT to change maladaptive thoughts to thoughts that are more conducive to your wellbeing. I also incorporate energy exercises, somatic work and mindfulness.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to have a safe space to work through their problems where they can explore their feelings, thoughts, and actions. They will also receive feedback and psycho-education on pertinent subjects. With each session we will go over good things that are happening or things that are not bad. I will also have an actionable plan that you can spend time working on over the week between our next session.
