Leon Pereira is a Licensed Psychologist (PhD) who is in private practice, on O'ahu. He also works for Piha Wellness and Healing, on Maui. He has over 25 years of experience, in private practice. Additionally, he has experience working for nonprofit organizations and State of Hawaii departments (DOH and DOE). He has experience as a supervisor and has worked in crisis intervention, in inpatient settings and in outpatient settings.

Dr. Pereira graduated from the University of Hawaii, at Manoa, with a dual-Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Psychology.

He provides therapy for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. His areas of specialization include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, anger management, ADHD, behavior problems, parenting challenges, and relationship Issues. He also works with high-functioning clients on the autism spectrum.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Dr. Pereira utilizes an individualized, collaborative, problem-solving approach to therapy, using Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) tailored to each client's needs. He helps clients resolve issues from the past; change current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors; and, work toward their meaningful, personal goals.
