Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Libby Collins, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with an Masters Degree in Counseling. I am originally from Minnesota and attended University of Wisconsin-Madison for my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Social Welfare. I'm dedicated to helping you achieve your therapeutic goals through a positive and collaborative approach. I believe in actively problem-solving with you to find workable solutions to your current concerns, whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or navigating life transitions such as grief, divorce, or other life stressors. My goal is to help you cement changes in thinking, feeling, and behaving that will lead to lasting improvements in your life.

My approach to therapy

I have extensive experience working with couples, individuals, and families. Over the years, I've supported clients in improving their relationships by identifying and addressing impediments to communication, intimacy, and other related issues. Recently, I've expanded my services to include support for those on their cancer journey, providing care to clients, their families and/or caregivers as they navigate diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will work together to ensure we are a good fit to work together to achieve your counseling goals. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, the progress you'd like to see occur during our work together and any relevant personal history as well as history of the issues that you are currently addressing. The initial session will also allow for any questions you have about therapy and will give you an idea of what to expect during the remaining counseling sessions.
