Great to meet you!

You feel lost lately and overwhelmed. You are sad. angry. worried. empty. Something needs to change. Your deep self is telling you it's time to heal the old wounds--but therapy is terrifying. (Or, at least, uncomfortable.) And yet, here you are! Looking for a therapist to guide, encourage, and walk beside you on your path. My name is Lilian. I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with an MFA in Creative Writing. For over 10 years, I’ve worked with people who have complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and grief. I can't heal you. You are built to heal yourself--and I will help you find that.

My approach to therapy

I love using an Internal Family Systems approach to guide people inside themselves and help them make contact with what in their inner world needs care. Depending on the moment, though, I also draw on a range of therapeutic approaches from cognitive (like reframing thoughts or talking about brain science) to experiential (like creating personal ritual) to somatic (like tapping or Natural Flow EMDR). But nothing is more important in my work than building a close bond with my client. If you don't feel safe, understood, cherished, and connected when with me, then I'm not the right therapist.

What you can expect from me

Best case scenario: our paperwork is done, so we can spend the full hour focused on you. Yes, I'm "conducting a clinical assessment" in order to provide a diagnosis--but I don't want you to feel evaluated. I'm your student. I want to learn what's hard right now, what's important for me to know about your past, what are your hopes for therapy.
