Great to meet you!

Lilian Gathanga, LPC Licensed Professional Counselor

Welcome. I believe therapy is a space where healing and growth intersect, and where meaningful change becomes possible. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over five years of clinical experience, I provide a supportive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore challenges, build insight, and develop practical tools for lasting change.

I am a goal-oriented clinician who partners collaboratively with clients to identify clear, achievable objectives. While I offer warmth and compassion, I also thoughtfully challenge clients when appropriate encouraging accountability, deeper self-exploration, and forward movement toward the life they want to create. My approach is grounded, direct, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

Seeking support is a courageous step, and I am committed to walking alongside you as you work toward clarity, resilience, and personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My clinical approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and rooted in deep curiosity about each client’s lived experience. I take time to understand patterns how past experiences, relationships, and beliefs shape present challenges so we can identify meaningful areas for change. Together, we build insight, increase self-awareness, and develop practical coping strategies to address concerns such as anxiety, loss, or other emotional stressors.

I empower clients to take an active role in their healing while providing both warmth and thoughtful challenge. I believe growth happens when compassion is paired with accountability, so I support clients in staying committed to their goals and making intentional progress toward lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a comprehensive and collaborative assessment process. I will ask thoughtful questions to gather relevant background information, including current concerns, factors that led to seeking therapy, prior therapy experiences, and specific goals for treatment. This initial conversation helps establish a clear understanding of patterns, strengths, and areas for growth so we can develop an intentional and effective treatment plan.

Clients can expect a warm, professional environment that balances support with thoughtful inquiry. My goal is to create a space where individuals feel heard and understood while beginning a focused, goal-oriented path toward healing, clarity, and emotional well-being.
