Great to meet you!

I'm an LGBTQIA+-affirming LCSW in North Carolina.

I specialize in personality disorders, psychotic disorders, LGBTQIA+ identity (transitions, support, etc.), substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. I'm particularly good with complex presentations: the people who don't fit neatly into one category, who've been in therapy before and felt like something was missing.

What I bring is both clinical depth and genuine human presence. You don't have to leave your personality at the door here — and neither do I.

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in the therapeutic relationship first. Meaningful change starts with trust and I build that by showing up as a person, not just a clinician.

From there, I draw on Psychodynamic therapy to understand the patterns rooted in your history, ACT to build psychological flexibility around what you can't change, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to work with the different parts of yourself that carry old pain or protection. Narrative Therapy helps you examine the stories you've been telling about who you are — and decide which ones you want to keep. Motivational Interviewing guides how I work when ambivalence about change is part of the picture.

I believe in being a person first and a therapist second.

What you can expect from me

The first session will feel more like a conversation than an interrogation. My priority is getting to know who you are as a person — not just why you came to therapy.

We'll cover what I need to understand your concerns, but I'm just as interested in your strengths, your values, your relationships, and what you hope your life could look like if therapy actually works.
