Great to meet you!

As a licensed, clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience, I have had a busy and exciting career supporting children, women, and families in the child welfare and behavioral health arena. I am a graduate of the University of Maryland and have training in Trauma Informed practices including EMDR. I am a DMV native and the mother of two wonderful teenagers!

A bit about my approach to therapy

As a therapist, my focus is trauma-informed practices using techniques such as mindfulness, EMDR, and creative expressive arts. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which can be an extremely helpful technique in processing and reworking traumatic events. Other modalities I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Modification, and Parenting strategies.

What you can expect from our first session

I strongly believe in a partnership with my clients that is supportive, considerate, and trustworthy. I like to educate clients, and use creative techniques as additional tools to enhance talk therapy. Whether our sessions are going over weekly life stressors or unpacking traumatic events, my aim is to always help clients leave sessions feeling grounded, noticing the small wins, and developing coping skills to use outside of therapy.
