Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I'm Lisa Hathaway, MBA, MA, LCMHC, and I'm honored you're considering taking this step toward healing. I believe every person has inherent worth and value, regardless of their past or the challenges they are facing. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.

I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and issues related to identity and purpose. I also have a passion for helping individuals heal from difficult family relationships, navigate forgiveness and boundaries, and rediscover hope after painful experiences.

My approach is individualized because no two people are the same. Together, we will identify your strengths, develop practical tools, and work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for greater emotional wellness, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and hope.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person's unique story. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I seek to understand the whole person—the experiences, relationships, strengths, and beliefs that have shaped who you are.

I primarily use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed practices. I am trained in EMDR. Depending on your needs, I also incorporate mindfulness, strengths-based interventions, and practical coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life. Being a trained Enneagram Coach, I can explore your personality and look at your core motivations.

My goal is not simply to help you feel better temporarily, but to help you understand yourself more deeply, build resilience, improve relationships, and create lasting change. If faith is an important part of your life, I am happy to thoughtfully integrate Christian principles into therapy when requested, while always respecting your individual beliefs and preferences.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. My priority is helping you feel comfortable, respected, and heard. There is no pressure to share everything at once—we will move at a pace that feels right for you.

During our first meeting, we'll discuss what brought you to therapy, explore your current concerns, review relevant personal history, and identify the goals you hope to achieve. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences while also giving you plenty of space to share what feels most important.

By the end of the session, we'll begin developing a plan that reflects your unique needs and strengths. My hope is that you leave feeling supported, understood, and encouraged, with a clearer sense of direction and confidence that you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.
