My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental and practical. I believe that people can make meaningful changes regardless of where they are in their lives or how many times, they may have struggled in the past. My focus is on helping you understand the patterns that may be getting in the way of recovery, develop practical coping strategies, and build a healthier path forward. I combines evidence-based tools to navigate best treatment options for you. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and other evidence base modalities. For trauma and co-occurring conditions I draw on trauma-focused methods that help you process what happened without re-living it, and Seeking Safety techniques. that address both the substance use and what was driving it. Our Sessions will feel structured and warm, meeting you where you are.

What you can expect from me

Our first session starts with me getting to know you, I'll ask about your history, your goals, and what has or hasn't worked before. I do thorough assessments and treatment planning. Most clients leave the first session feeling like someone actually listened and that there is a clear path forward.
