Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Lonetta, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland and a trauma specialist. I work with people of all ages and backgrounds, from children and teens to adults and older adults, and I meet each person where they are.

I have 17 years of experience in behavioral health, including community mental health and substance use treatment, so I understand the many ways people find their way to therapy and how hard it can be to reach out. I'm accepting new clients, and if you're ready to start, I'd be glad to meet you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and strengths-based. My goal is to make therapy a safe place where you can be honest without being judged and move at a pace that feels right.

Trauma can show up in many ways: anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, strained relationships, or a constant feeling of being on edge. Together, we'll recognize the resilience you already have, build on it, and set goals that fit your life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, and there's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. I'll ask about what brought you in, what you're hoping to change, and what's going on in your life right now. You'll also have time to ask me anything about how I work.

You set the pace. You never have to go into details about painful experiences before you feel ready. We'll focus on what feels most important to you, look at the strengths and coping skills you already have, and start shaping goals together.

By the end of the session, we'll talk about what next steps could look like and whether we feel like a good fit.
