Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1999. I completed my BA at Yale University, My MA at John F Kennedy University and my PsyD at Ryocan College. While those institutions educated me, my greatest teachers have always been all the people who have, personally and professionally, crossed my path in this lifetime. I have done many years of my own personal work and know deeply the rewards that can result. What I know is that people intend to do the best job they can with the tools they have. When their best is no longer working, it is likely the failure of the tool not failure of intention. Seeking therapy is a way of asking for a new toolbox. Together we work to identify the tool and master the skill for the job.

I am keenly aware of the courage it takes to ask for assistance and am here to applaud you for making this bold step in self awareness and change..

My approach to therapy

I find that most people struggling today, live dutifully and have, unwittingly, subscribed to outdated beliefs. Moment to moment, many people are unconsciously reacting to multiple cues internally and externally. Unchecked, a person may not be making decisions that reflect their true and present self or their own best interests. This can lead to anxiety, depression, self destruction, addiction and somatic complaints. Personal awareness builds personal integrity. A well developed sense of self determines how effectively one will interact with others. Bringing unrealized forces of our past into conscious awareness through therapy, provides opportunity for choice and for change. Your choice. Your change.

What you can expect from me

Therapy is first and foremost, a relationship. One must feel safe, supported, seen and heard when sharing the inner workings of one's life. This is a process that is built over time. It is my hope that when working with me, you find your voice, your likes and dislikes and become ever more emboldened to share, to evolve and to reflect and develop a positive and enduring sense of self over time.
