Great to meet you!

I’m Lori Long, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate(NC). My professional background includes providing therapy to individuals, families, and couples. I value building trusting relationships and creating a welcoming space where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves.

I provide virtual therapy for teens and adults across North Carolina and South Carolina, supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, anger, relationship challenges, life transitions, and substance use concerns. My approach is compassionate, practical, and collaborative, with room to openly share thoughts and feelings, process experiences, and develop skills for everyday life.

I am honored to be part of each client’s journey. Together, we identify what matters to you and work toward goals that reflect your needs. Through Therapy Is a Verb, I help clients turn insight into action, recognize their strengths, and build greater confidence and hope.

My approach to therapy

help adults navigating stress, depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions find clarity and balance. My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and tailored to your needs. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based approaches, and narrative therapy to help you explore patterns, recognize your strengths, and make sense of your experiences. Together, we build practical coping tools in a supportive space where you can be yourself, process your thoughts and feelings, and work toward healing and growth.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll begin getting to know each other and complete an initial assessment. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, and goals. You’ll have space to share your thoughts and feelings, ask questions, and learn about my approach. Together, we’ll begin identifying the support and next steps that fit your needs.
