Great to meet you!

If you are here, looking through these many profiles, it’s a lot. You may be searching for support, encouragement, understanding, and finding a way forward. I sincerely hope you find who you need. I offer assistance in North Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin. We may be a good fit if you are struggling with anxiety, stress, sleep, grief, losses, trauma, or transitions in your life. I understand reaching out can feel very uncomfortable, but I hope you keep reaching out for support.

My approach to therapy

I understand many concerns are very private, and I respect this. Life is messy, and we’re all doing the best we can do. I understand messy. My style is informal, warm, and supportive. I do not believe one size fits all in therapy. You are the expert on you. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other approaches which may be beneficial for you. We are humans with messy emotions, and often it’s the humanity in therapy that pulls us through the day. In therapy, we will get to know one another, discuss your needs, and develop your goals together. You may not really have a goal other than to feel better. That’s normal and fine. We will see where that takes us. We may end up with a goal you didn’t realize you had.

What you can expect from me

I sincerely want you to feel hopeful and confident in the future. So often we hurt because we don’t feel seen, heard, or even safe. I’d like to provide you with tools and strategies for use after sessions for decreasing anxiety and exploring the idea of hope. I promise to always greet you with compassion and an open mind. I would be honored to walk with you on your journey. Reach out in whatever way is comfortable for you. I am usually able to respond to emails in a more timely manner than phone calls.
