Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) since 1998, I bring more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field and professional experience serving individuals, families, and communities. I am committed to helping people navigate life’s challenges with compassion, practical guidance, and respect. I started my educational experience at Northern Vermont University and earned an AS in Communication and a BA in Psychology in 1992. I continued on to earn a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Vermont in 1995. I also completed a certification program in School Administration through Rivier University in 2010, reflecting my ongoing commitment to education and professional growth.

My clinical work has focused on adults, adolescents, couples, and families experiencing concerns such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), crisis/ emergency management, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, substance use, life transitions, and educational and behavioral challenges. I tailor treatment to each individual, honoring their unique experiences while supporting meaningful skill development and personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, with specialization in Violence Risk Assessment and Crisis/ Emergency Management. I use a strengths-based, collaborative approach that emphasizes validation, practical coping strategies, realistic feedback, and evidence-based interventions within a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment.

I am deeply committed to the belief that healing begins with connection and that every person possesses strengths that can be rediscovered, deepened and translated into action plans. It is a privilege to support clients in building insight, resilience, and practical skills that foster meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

My first session with clients will be a meeting of two individuals coming together to get to know each other in this therapeutic relationship. We will spend the session gaining an understanding of why my client has decided to participate in treatment at this time in their lives. We will also explore past experiences that inform that decision and drive their personal goals for treatment.
