Lori Smith

Hello, my name is Lori and I am a mother to three adult children as well as my various fur babies. I have a passion for walking through the darkness of grief as a compassionate carrier of hope for those navigating life after loss. I grew up in northern Indiana and have since lived various places around the United States. I earned my bachelor's in social work while living in Fairbanks, Ak as an active-duty military spouse. I then completed my Master of Social Work degree after returning to northern Indiana.

I offer a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space where you can process grief and loss at your

own pace. My approach is grounded in person-centered care, meaning your experience,

values, and goals guide our work together. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to

help shift unhelpful thought patterns, Motivational Interviewing to explore and strengthen

your reasons for healing, and Strength-Based approaches to help you recognize what you're

already carrying well. I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals ages 6 to 100+

years old as a compassionate carrier of hope.

Our first session is about getting to know each other. We'll start by talking about what's

brought you here: your story, your losses, and what support means to you right now.

Together, we'll identify your goals and begin building a path forward at a pace that feels right

for you. There's no pressure to share everything at once. My aim is for you to leave our first

session feeling heard, understood, and genuinely hopeful about the journey ahead.
