Great to meet you!

Lourra obtained her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology Counselor Education from the University of Colorado, Denver and a Doctorate of Philosophy, Psychology at Capella University in Minnesota. She has been licensed since 2000 and works with individuals (adults, adolescents, and teens), couples and in groups. She enjoys spending time at the beach, camping and playing on our mountains with her family and dog, Sullivan.

My approach to therapy

Lourra has found a cognitive behavioral focus to suit her style. However, she strongly believes the rapport and relationship with the client is what makes for effective therapy. Many clients have commented on an ease of therapy and welcoming presence.

What you can expect from me

Making concrete goals where both the client and therapist are able to see measurable results is a key to successful therapy. One can expect to end the session with a brief clarification of how the session was helpful or not and potential homework to get closer to any goal.
