Great to meet you!

My name is Maddie Cilano, LCPC. I am a clinical counselor and founder of Reclaiming Peace, a nonprofit grounded in the belief that each person is inherently whole and holds an innate capacity for healing, growth, and change. This belief is also at the heart of my work as a therapist. Rather than viewing therapy as a process of fixing what is broken, I see it as an opportunity to better understand ourselves, reconnect with our inner strengths, and reclaim the self-trust and agency that difficult experiences can make harder to access.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and grounded in curiosity and respect for each person’s unique path. Drawing from psychodynamic and attachment-based perspectives, Polyvagal Theory, and other integrative approaches, I consider the whole person and the ways our experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and the world around us.

Through this work, we can begin to move beyond simply surviving or reacting to life and become more present within it. By deepening our connection to ourselves, we can respond with greater awareness and intention, creating more space to choose how we want to experience and participate in our lives.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to begin getting to know one another and create a foundation for our work together. We’ll review informed consent, complete an initial intake, and gently explore your history, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what feels most important to you right now. Together, we’ll begin shaping a treatment plan and path forward that feels supportive, meaningful, and aligned with your goals.
