Great to meet you!

Supporting children and families through difficult seasons is at the heart of my work. I have close to 10 years of experience in the mental health field providing intensive group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and consultation services. I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Master’s in Social Work and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I also have extensive training and am rostered in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, a specialized approach that supports young children and caregivers impacted by trauma and stress. I work with children, families, and caregivers navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, attachment concerns, behavioral challenges, family conflict, grief, divorce, developmental concerns, and major life transitions. Many families come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, unsure how to help their child, or worried about challenges at home, school, or in relationships. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where children and families can strengthen relationships, build resilience, and improve emotional well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in child development, attachment-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. I believe therapy should be engaging, creative, and tailored to each child and family’s unique strengths and needs. I work collaboratively with caregivers to support emotional regulation, strengthen attachment, improve communication, and better understand behaviors that may be connected to anxiety, trauma, overwhelm, or developmental stress. I integrate developmentally appropriate interventions such as play therapy, music, art, movement, and storytelling to help children express emotions, process difficult experiences, and build coping skills in ways that feel natural and supportive. I also help parents better understand their child’s emotional needs while developing tools to navigate tantrums, behavioral concerns, family stress, attachment challenges, and big transitions such as divorce, grief, or changes in the home.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know one another and understanding your concerns, goals, and hopes for therapy. I’ll gather background information, learn more about your child’s strengths and challenges, and begin exploring what may be contributing to concerns such as anxiety, trauma symptoms, emotional outbursts, attachment struggles, behavior problems, family stress, grief, or developmental challenges. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where both children and caregivers feel comfortable, heard, and respected. Together, we’ll begin building a strong foundation for therapy and create a shared plan that supports emotional growth, stronger relationships, improved coping skills, and greater confidence for both your child and your family.
