Great to meet you!

I am a culturally responsive therapist who recognizes that culture,I believe your culture, family, identity, and life experiences all play an important role in how you see yourself and navigate the world. I work with adolescents, adults, and families who are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, family and relationship challenges, maternal mental health, identity, and major life transitions. As a culturally responsive therapist, I want to understand your experiences within the context of your life rather than looking at one problem in isolation. I offer therapy in both English and Hmong and create a space where you can be honest, feel respected, and bring your whole self to the conversation.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I want you to feel comfortable with me, but I also want our work together to have direction. We’ll identify what you want to change, explore the experiences and patterns that may be getting in the way, and work toward practical steps that fit your life. I draw from CBT, EMDR, trauma-focused approaches, narrative therapy, attachment-based therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I’ll meet you where you are while also helping you recognize your strengths, consider new perspectives, and make changes that move you closer to the life you want.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and learning what matters most to you. You don’t need to have everything organized or know exactly what you need before we meet. I’ll listen, ask questions, and help us begin identifying goals that feel meaningful and realistic. We’ll also talk about what you need from me as your therapist so we can build a relationship that feels comfortable and productive. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer sense of where we can begin and confidence that you have someone in your corner.
