Great to meet you!

My name is María and was born in Mexico. In 2019 I moved to Minnesota and have been providing therapeutic work as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and a Mental Health counselor. My areas of experience include stress, anxiety, racial trauma, coping with addictions, trauma, abuse, motivation, depression, self esteem, & confidence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

My approach to therapy

If we decide to work together, we’ll build a collaborative relationship where your voice, goals, and experiences are valued. I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable being open and honest. My role is to listen without judgment, help you gain new perspectives, challenge you when it can support growth, and provide encouragement and support throughout your therapeutic journey.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, talk about what brings you to therapy, and explore what you hope to accomplish through the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll identify meaningful goals and develop a direction for treatment that feels right for you. I want to provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being open and vulnerable. As we move forward, we’ll work collaboratively to build on your strengths, develop helpful skills, and make progress toward the changes you want to see in your life.
