Great to meet you!

Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the effects of past trauma? I'm Maria Gantert. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience. I work with teens and adults through a trauma informed approach, to build practical coping skills, while working through difficult life experiences. When life feels this heavy, it can be hard to know where to start or how to move forward. Often times those I work with are looking for support and practical tools to help them feel more stable and in control of their lives. Many of the people I work with want to better understand their emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and begin to feel more confident navigating everyday challenges.

If you are looking for a compassionate, empathetic, and skills focused clinician who is there to support you in your journey, I look forward to meeting you and am hopeful we can take those steps together.

My approach to therapy

There is no "one size fits all" to therapy. I work together with each individual to collaboratively set goals that will propel people into the life they want to be living. Part of having a better understanding of what that looks like, requires transparency and open communication surrounding the impacts of symptoms on day to day life.

Together we will to identify patterns, build practical coping skills, and support meaningful change through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Therapy with me focuses not only on processing your experiences, but also on developing strategies that can help you manage stress, emotions, and difficult situations in daily life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session together typically starts with getting to know you as a person, hearing what empowered you to finally take the leap into therapy, and processing some of your goals for working together. This first session often entails processing and sharing information on your history, present day, and what you hope your life could also be like perhaps even months down the road. We will close our first session with starting to identify some more concrete goals for therapy, with the idea that they can also change over time as needed.

Clients often describe my style as gentle, honest, and supportive. I strive to create a space where you feel respected, heard, and comfortable being open about what you’re experiencing while we work together toward your goals. If you're considering therapy, you're welcome to reach out to see whether working together might be a good fit.
