Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Maria, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 11 years of experience providing psychotherapy. I earned my Master of Social Work with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania and am licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, chronic stress, low self-esteem, and periods of feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I have extensive training in evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care.

I believe therapy is most meaningful when you feel genuinely understood while also gaining tools and insight that help you create change in your everyday life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct, and solution-oriented. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process where you feel comfortable being yourself while also feeling supported in exploring patterns, challenging unhelpful ways of thinking, and making meaningful changes.

I tailor therapy to each person rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate DBT, CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed interventions, and practical coping strategies. We may explore how past experiences influence what you are experiencing today while also focusing on what you can do in the present to feel better and move toward the life you want.

I strive to balance compassion and validation with honest feedback, curiosity, and actionable tools you can use outside of our sessions.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you beyond simply what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what has been going on, what feels most important to you right now, relevant experiences from your past, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or having clearly defined goals. We can figure those things out together. I want our sessions to feel comfortable, conversational, and judgment-free, while still having a sense of direction and purpose.

By the end of our first few sessions, my goal is for us to have a shared understanding of what you would like to work on and an individualized plan for helping you move toward those goals.
