Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and have worked in counseling focusing on grief for 14 years. This work has shown me the opportunities to recreate yourself because parts of your world have changed. I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, physical and sexual trauma, job changes, and relationship issues. I have also worked with those who have other challenges such as High Functioning Autism and issues concerning the LGBTQIA community.

My approach to therapy

My approach to counseling comes from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness techniques. I find these techniques help focus on the present moments. There should be a genuine relationship between the therapist and the client. I believe in these theories because they center on the individual and their innate power to overcome their personal challenges. There is a trust that is necessary between the therapist and client to support making the necessary changes in themselves.

What you can expect from me

My hope is after our first session the client takes away a feeling of ease and hope as we look to find concrete ways to support the challenges that brought them there. I truly believe the first session is important in establishing trust and a safe place to do the work necessary to take the first steps. We will develop supportive tools to add to you tool box to help to navigate obstacles that present themselves.
