Great to meet you!

I have over 25 years of experience working with individuals ages 17 and older. My specialties include anxiety & depression, loss & grief, relationship issues, women's issues, career challenges and future planning.

I earned my doctorate from the University of Southern California and my master’s degree from the University of Washington. I participate in regular clinical consultation and continuing education to maintain expertise and professional accountability.

My approach to therapy

My approach is an integrative one. Not everyone’s needs are the same, and I will tailor our time together to suit your unique needs, pulling from multiple frameworks including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Brief Interventions, and PsychoEducation. We can explore Internal Family Systems together (Parts Work) or utilize an EMDR-adjacent technique for trauma processing.

I am a firm believer that mental health is health, therefore sleep, nutrition, and activity all contribute to our overall outlook.

Additionally, I believe in the power of creativity, metaphor, and imagery when it comes to connecting to our intuitive wisdom.

What you can expect from me

I will work collaboratively with you to help increase your well-being, providing tools and behavioral strategies along with interactive feedback to help you gain insight and personal growth.

Please see my website DrMarilynSears.com for more information. You may contact me through my website to schedule a consultation time that works for both of us.
