Great to meet you!

I'm a trauma focused clinician but consider myself a social worker first. I view therapy from the lens of our place in the greater community and the roles we play in the social world. My politics inform my work which makes me a stronger advocate for my clients from marginalized communities.

I'm trained in all standard modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy as well as more eclectic modalities. I am also trained in EMDR which has been invaluable to my clients with trauma backgrounds.

My approach to therapy

I have a trauma informed approach to therapy, and am very person-centered. Therapy won't work if you don't feel safe and comfortable with your therapist. My goal is to build trust first and foremost, and I work to help clients understand that therapy is theirs.

I also engage with my clients in an organic, conversational manner, offering feedback, humor, and a different perspective.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to be heard, to receive empathy, but also to be challenged. Every client has different needs and goals, and I work with each one to understand the specific outcomes necessary for your growth. With that said, while I will always be kind and supportive, I won't always agree with you, if I think you need to be pushed.
