Great to meet you!

Marissa White is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over eight years of experience helping clients navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful change. She specializes in supporting individuals dealing with trauma, mood and personality disorders, anxiety, family and relationship issues, work and career stress, crisis situations, parenting challenges, and general life stressors.

Marissa takes an eclectic, client-centered approach, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs and goals. She draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities, integrating techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed care, and solution-focused strategies to provide practical tools and emotional support.

Known for her empathetic, nonjudgmental style, Marissa creates a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions. She works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, develop coping strategies, and build resilience, helping them move toward healthier relationships, improved emotional regulation, and greater life satisfaction.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is eclectic and client-centered, which means I tailor each session to meet your unique needs, goals, and circumstances. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, so I integrate techniques from CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma-informed care, and solution-focused therapy to provide practical tools, emotional support, and guidance.

I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative space where clients feel heard and understood. Together, we explore patterns, identify challenges, and develop coping strategies to manage stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships. My goal is to empower clients to gain clarity, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, we will focus on getting to know you and your concerns, meeting you exactly where you are in your journey. I will ask questions about your personal history, current challenges, and goals for therapy, and I encourage you to share what brought you to counseling.

Even in the first session, meaningful work can be accomplished. We will explore your strengths, identify coping strategies, and begin developing a plan tailored to your unique situation. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward positive change.
