Great to meet you!

I am licensed in MD (LCPC), VA (LPC), and HI (LMHC). I hold a BA in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach and a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hawaii Pacific University.

Personally, I have benefited from a wealth of life experience through a long-term marriage, parenting (and grandparenting!), a large multigenerational family, running a small business, community and faith-based volunteer work, time in nature, traveling, team sports, and collaborating in music.

My approach to therapy

I work with older adolescents (age 16 and up) and adults.

Counseling areas: anxiety, depression, trauma and adjustment problems and disorders, ADHD, parenting issues, relationships, stress management, life direction and work-life balance.

Modalities used: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and Positive Psychology practices, Parent Management Training for attentional problems and disruptive behaviors, and faith-based counseling.

What you can expect from me

I work with my clients to create a personalized approach to therapy built around four essential questions:

• What do I really want my life to look like (my values)?

• What specific things do I want to work toward to help me get there (my goals)?

• Where do I start (my plan)?

• How do I get there from here (my skills)?

Working as a team, we can put all those questions together, no matter what the issue is, toward finding the best answers that work for you in your personal situation.
