Markiesha Johnson

Markiesha is a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Michigan. She obtained her Master's in Social Work degree from Michigan State University. Markiesha has over 10 years of experience in the social work field working with diverse populations within the child welfare system. Markiesha understood that many of her clients suffered from mental health and trauma. Given her own personal experiences and family dynamics, Markiesha became passionate about breaking generational trauma.

Markiesha is the owner of Restorative Minds Counseling, PLLC. The therapeutic process is not a sprint but a marathon, and she is willing to support you every step of the way. Markiesha will use a strength-based, trauma informed approach to help you unpack the root causes to your challenges. Her approach to therapy is cognitive-behavioral, strength-based, and trauma-informed. Markiesha provides a safe space, non-judgmental, friendly and professional environment.

Markiesha's philosophy is to meet clients where they are and allow them to heal at their own pace. YOU are the expert of your life, which is why she wish to build a collaborative relationship. Her goal is to help you navigate through this journey that we call “life” by providing you with the necessary tools to overcome life’s obstacles. You will learn how to identify triggers, positive coping skills to manage your emotions in order to become the best healthy version of yourself.
