Marli Sarecky

Hi, I’m Marli. I’m a licensed social worker in Maryland, Virginia, and DC, and I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults. I have a special interest in supporting college students and young adults as they navigate the challenges, transitions, and self-discovery that often come with this stage of life. Originally from Maryland, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and my Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, I love spending time with my dog, traveling, getting creative through arts and crafts, and being around family and friends.

My role as a therapist is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe sharing their stories and experiences. I value building a collaborative relationship with each client and tailoring sessions to their individual needs and goals. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, with an emphasis on helping clients identify and build upon their existing strengths while developing healthy ways to cope with life’s challenges.

Starting therapy can feel scary, and I know it’s not always easy to take that first step. In our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you, learn what’s bringing you to therapy, and answer any questions you may have. There’s no pressure to share everything right away. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals and building a foundation for meaningful change, stronger coping skills, and lasting growth.
