Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Marlie and I have over 5 years of experience helping individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, mood disorders, and more. I have a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida. I hold a clinical license in 3 states: LMHC in Florida, LCMHC in North Carolina, and LPC in South Carolina.

My approach to therapy

Everyone has a unique set of life experiences that contribute to who we are. Finding root causes are important when it comes to helping us understand ourselves. In addition to identifying and processing these root causes, I believe perspective plays a role in how we navigate the world. I enjoy helping my client's see other perspectives when beneficial. We can't always change our circumstances, but we can change our perspective, which leads to feeling better about things that are out of our control.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we review and dive deeper into your history and the questions answered in the intake paperwork. This allows me to get a better understanding of you. We will also use this session to identify goals. In the first session and in our continued work together, I create a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences free of judgement. It's my job to help you heal and grow. I will validate, challenge, and support you with the goal of you being able to do these things for yourself by the end of our time working together. No matter what your ultimate goals are for therapy, we will work to reach them in a collaborative environment.
