Great to meet you!

You've done the hard work — you started a GLP-1 medication, maybe lost weight, maybe changed what's on your plate. But somewhere along the way, the emotional weight didn't follow. The complicated relationship with food, the old thought patterns, the grief of a body that feels unfamiliar — GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro are powerful, but they can't do this part. If you're navigating the psychological and emotional side of your weight management journey and feeling like no one truly gets it, you're not looking for a generic therapist. You're looking for someone who has been exactly where you are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is evidence-based and always tailored to you because no two GLP-1 journeys look alike. I draw on a range of approaches depending on what fits your situation and goals. Sessions focus on the emotional patterns driving your relationship with food, your body, and your sense of self not just the behaviors, but the "why" underneath them.

You'll find I'm direct but warm, structured but flexible. I'm not going to nod and reflect your words back at you indefinitely. I'm going to help you build real skills, understand real patterns, and make real progress — session by session. My work is compassion-led, but it's also practical.

What you can expect from me

We start with a free 15-minute phone consultation — a low-pressure call to see if we're a good fit. If we move forward, the first full session is an intake where I'll want to understand your full story: your GLP-1 or bariatric history, what's going on emotionally, and what you're hoping to change. I'll share my initial impressions and we'll map out a direction together. You won't leave without a clear sense of where we're headed.

Sessions are held entirely via telehealth through SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. I see clients in Maryland, Washington DC, and additional states through the Social Work Licensure Compact. Evenings and weekend availability may be available — reach out to discuss scheduling that fits your life.
