Great to meet you!

Greetings!

Marva Johnson is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She received her master’s degree in Psychology (Marriage and Family Therapy) from Phillips Graduate Institute in Encino CA and her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from North Carolina State University in Raleigh NC. Marva is a published author of “Marriage Ain’t A Fairytale”, Breast Cancer Survivor and has over 20 years of experience in the Behavioral Health field.

My approach to therapy

When working with clients, Marva's priority is making someone feel comfortable while building good rapport. If they do not connect the process will not work. From there, she will create a safe space where clients are able to explore and address their issues and barriers. Together you will work on developing healthy techniques to help better manage these problems that have held a person back from achieving goals and reaching their greatest potential.

What you can expect from me

What clients can expect to take away from sessions with Marva is clarity and understanding. She want to help clients make connections and come to new perspectives that they might not have been able to do before. Collaboratively with clients, Marva wants to guide, support, and assist in helping a person grow and be the best version of themselves.

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." -Maya Angelou
