Great to meet you!

I'm Mary, and I've spent 16 years doing this work — across crisis centers, inpatient units, community mental health, and private practice. What's kept me here isn't the credentials. It's what I've seen: that people who've been through the hardest things are often the most resilient, when someone finally helps them find the right tools. I specialize in trauma and substance use because these two things are rarely separate. I hold a master's degree in both clinical mental health and addiction counseling, and I bring that dual lens to every session. I'm LGBTQIA+-affirming, work with ages 6 through seniors, and offer telehealth throughout Oklahoma so location is never a barrier.

My approach to therapy

I work from a trauma-informed foundation, which means I don't push you to go faster than your nervous system is ready for. I draw primarily on Trauma-Focused CBT, standard CBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy — depending on what fits you and where you are right now. If you're working through addiction alongside trauma, I bring Motivational Interviewing in as well, because change happens through curiosity, not pressure. My style is direct but warm. I'll be honest with you about what I see, and I'll meet you where you actually are — not where the textbook says you should be.

What you can expect from me

The first session is yours to use however you need it. I'll ask about what brought you in, what you've tried before (if anything), and what "better" would actually look like for your life. I won't rush you through a checklist. Some people arrive with a clear idea of what they want to work on; others aren't sure yet, and that's completely fine. By the end, we'll have a sense of whether we're a good fit and a rough idea of where we might start. You can expect me to be present, direct, and genuinely curious about your experience — not just your symptoms.
