Great to meet you!

Do you find yourself weighed down by anxiety or depression, struggling with addiction, or feeling isolated and unsure how to connect with others? Come talk to me — you don't have to carry it alone. I'm Mary Anthony Reese, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 31 years of experience, and I'm known in my community for trauma therapy. I work with adults navigating trauma and PTSD, substance abuse and addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, and the loneliness that comes when social connection feels hard. I believe the greatest need of every human being is simply to know they've been heard — and that's where our work begins. My clients tell me I'm easy to talk to, and my goal is to help you find the meaning and happiness you deserve.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in treating trauma with EMDR — one of the most effective, evidence-based therapies available today — to help you process painful experiences and truly resolve them, not just talk around them. I also specialize in substance abuse counseling and clinical drug-and-alcohol intervention: I completed the Love First intervention training with Debra and Jeff Jay, so if someone you love is struggling with addiction, I can help you and your family take that first step. I believe healthy, clear communication is the foundation of every relationship, and I'll always meet you with honesty and compassion. Pain is often necessary — but suffering is optional.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about being heard. The time is yours to share what's brought you in and what you're hoping to change — at your pace, with no pressure to tell your whole story at once. I'll listen closely, ask questions, and begin to understand both what you're carrying now and what kind of work will actually help. By the end, we'll have an early sense of the path forward — whether that's processing trauma, addressing addiction, easing anxiety or depression, or building the confidence to feel more at home around others. Take the first step; I'd be honored to help you find the happiness you've been seeking.
