Great to meet you!

I have counseling work experience in residential, community agency, college counseling center and outpatient settings. I have experience with adolescents and adults, providing personal, psychoeducational and psychosocial counseling services. I also have experience in working with families and caregivers. Additionally, I have experience working with adults in crisis and with substance abuse problems. I am licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. In addition, I am Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II and Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider. I have worked in the mental health field for over twenty years. I graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Master of Science degree in Counseling (Agency) in 2009. I received my Associate Licensure in 2012 and worked under supervision until receiving full licensure in 2018.

My approach to therapy

I use an eclectic approach to therapy derived from Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family System theories of counseling, and I employ cognitive-behavioral, reality therapy, and Bowen techniques. As a provider of mental health services, I believe the quality of care I am providing is held to the highest standards. I don't just offer therapy, I am passionate about providing the best therapy!

What you can expect from me

Your first counseling session is the start of your therapy journey. It gives you and I time to get to know each other, discuss how counseling works, and lay the groundwork for future sessions. If you’re wondering what happens in an initial counseling session, it usually includes an open conversation about why you’re seeking support.
