Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Matt. I’ve worked in the mental health field for over 3 years since earning my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I work with adults ages 18+ from all backgrounds, and much of my work focuses on supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals navigating anxiety and depression, and people moving through life transitions — whether that is a change in job, relationship status, identity, or sense of direction. Many of the clients I work with feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can feel understood, affirmed, and empowered to move toward a life that feels more grounded and aligned.

My approach to therapy

You can expect an enthusiastic therapy space focused on authenticity, respect, humor, and real connection. I love celebrating client wins, but I also make room for the difficult moments we all face. My approach is collaborative and grounded in helping you better understand your values, your patterns, and what you truly need. I use evidence-based approaches to support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, identity concerns, and life transitions. Together, we will explore what is getting in the way, build practical coping skills, and find a path forward that feels meaningful, realistic, and true to who you are.

What you can expect from me

From the very beginning, I focus on creating a safe, supportive environment where we can acknowledge your needs and start making sense of what brought you to therapy. You can expect curiosity, thoughtful questions, and a collaborative conversation about what has been weighing on you — whether that includes anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, LGBTQ+ concerns, or a major life transition. I may also offer a small amount of goal-aligned homework when it feels helpful, so that therapy starts feeling relevant right away. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and clearer about where we are headed together.
