Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Matt. I have a Systemic approach to understanding and solving problems. This analytic approach is from my Masters and current pursuit of PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. Systemic thinking is backed by research and current literature, and could be considered a more holistic perception of mental health that considers all related context. Unfortunately, I cannot provide Couples Therapy using insurance, as Marriage and Family Therapy considers the cycle in the relationship the problem, rather than you or your partner. Therefore, insurance will not consider your relationship problem medically necessary. However, I am incredibly passionate in solving unsolvable problems utilizing a systemic lens for individual diagnoses. This is especially true of commons symptoms of anxiety, anger, and depression.

My approach to therapy

I don't know about you, but I like it when things make sense. A Systemic lens understands that all problems exist within a homeostasis, meaning that these problems are a result of very complicated interactions that contributes to the cyclical pattern of the problem itself. My job is to put myself out of a job, by first identifying patterns within your patterned symptoms. Then provide a framework of the problem that makes sense according to the context in which you survived. Then you and I intervene through tailor made interventions based on the patterned perception and solution you've likely had for most of your life. I understand this is complicated, but that's because it's a reflection of what it means to be human. Still, I can guarantee a way in which you and your problem makes sense.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we would want to identify the patterned experience within all of the patterned problems of relating. If I'm doing my job well, I'm going to diagram the problem as a cycle according to your own experience where ironically all existing solutions (yours and everyone else's) to fix the problem have actually only contributed to problem's ongoing maintenance. If the problem were solved, then it wouldn't be ongoing. My job is to help you achieve genuine change by breaking that cycle.
