Great to meet you!

I earned my BA in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill and later a Master’s in Social Work after experiences in behavioral health and psychiatric settings inspired me to advocate for individuals whose needs are often misunderstood or overlooked. My early career in child welfare and school social work deepened my understanding of how trauma, neurodiversity, and larger systems can influence mental health and well-being. Since becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2015, I have developed a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach supported by training in CBT, TF-CBT, ARC, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Zones of Regulation. I also bring leadership training from FranklinCovey and the Leadership Pipeline Institute, which has broadened my understanding of people, relationships, and systems.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in trauma-informed care and shaped by my experience working in child welfare and school systems, where I saw how easily the barriers contributing to distress can be overlooked. My life and work have connected me with people of diverse neurotypes, physical abilities, cultural perspectives, and socioeconomic backgrounds, deepening my appreciation for the many ways people experience and process life’s challenges. I strive to create a space where you feel understood as a whole person, not defined by a diagnosis or circumstance. Together, we can build on your unique strengths and gifts to help you navigate whatever life brings your way.

What you can expect from me

Our first sessions will focus on understanding the challenges you’re facing, the barriers getting in your way, the important relationships in your life, and what a realistic, meaningful future looks like for you. While a diagnosis can point us toward strategies that have helped others, I believe each person’s path toward stability and satisfaction is unique. We’ll begin with psychoeducation to build insight, then identify and refine practical skills that support the growth you want to see. Over time, we’ll also explore how to strengthen connections with people who understand your needs, recognize your strengths, and want to see you thrive.
