Great to meet you!

Clients often describe me as someone who is "easy to talk to", has a great sense of humor, and is down to earth. After 26 years as a full time therapist, I bring a blend of compassion, experience, and wisdom. I welcome the opportunity to meet and hear your story.

Recently I also published a best selling book, Self-Love Workbook For Women: Release Self-Doubt, Build Self-Compassion, and Embrace Who You Are. (2020) and Be Kind to Yourself: A 52-Week Workbook to Nurture Your Beautiful Self Through the Good Times, the Messy Times, and All the Seasons in Between (2022).

My approach to therapy

Therapy is both an art and science. After 26 years as a full time clinician, I’ve found that balancing compassion and validation with learning new skills or perspectives, brings forth the most change.

I believe whole heartedly in finding your strengths and creating a non-judgmental, safe space to grow and evolve. Over the years, I’ve developed specialities including: depression/anxiety, PTSD/trauma/sexual abuse, grief/loss, eating disorders, and children/adolescents.

I am continually learning new interventions, the latest neuroscience, and treatment approaches to provide the most effective and efficient therapy possible, including my favorite approaches using EMDR, DBT, CBT/ACT and play therapy.

One of my unique specializations and gifts is working with children. Through play, I quickly engage and make the therapeutic experience meaningful and fun for your child.

What you can expect from me

The initial sessions offers an opportunity for you to meet me and see if I am the right fit for your needs. You will quickly get a sense of my personality and style and we will identify your strengths and needs to quickly create a treatment plan together.
