Great to meet you!

Hey there! Megan here & I'm honored to be working alongside Headway to bring mental health support to those in need! I find great honor and privilege in being able to support the mental health and overall wellness of others as my working profession. I strive to ensure that each person I meet feels they've been provided authentic respect, compassion, empathy, and support during their therapy experience with me. I am a Licensed Therapist in NC, having earned my Master's in Social Work in 2019 through Boise State University. My undergraduate education was completed at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2015! I have primarily worked within the private practice sector of mental and behavioral health and love everything it affords me. In working alongside me to meet your mental health goals, you'll find that I am open-minded, warm, engaging, and challenging, and I bring a healthy dose of humor when helpful!

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, client-centered approach and tailor therapy to each person and what they’re navigating. My style is warm, grounded, and non-judgmental, while also being honest and gently challenging when helpful. I use an integrative, trauma-informed lens and draw from evidence-based tools like cognitive and behavioral strategies, mindfulness, emotion-focused work, and relational approaches. I often work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, identity and self-esteem, relationship patterns, and life transitions. Therapy with me is about building self-understanding, strengthening internal resources, and moving toward change that feels meaningful and sustainable.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a low-pressure, supportive space focused on getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you have about the process. My goal is to create an environment that feels safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental—you don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. Together, we’ll begin identifying initial goals or areas of focus, while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Most clients leave the first session feeling heard, grounded, and with a clearer sense of what therapy with me will look like.
