Great to meet you!

Are you navigating the unique challenges of ADHD or an Autism Spectrum Disorder? Mekayla Boswell is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with experience in supporting neurodivergent adults, and is currently accepting new clients for telehealth therapy at Lifeologie Counseling Raleigh.

Mekayla believes in creating a space where neurodivergent folks can feel seen, understood, and empowered to thrive. Whether you're looking for strategies to manage ADHD, explore how to better meet your needs as an autistic individual, or simply need a safe space to express yourself – she is here to help and wants to meet you!

My approach to therapy

Mekayla grew up as someone very passionate about helping others. She has also always loved theater and found it was a great way to better understand others and herself by identifying a character’s motivations, what emotions were driving them, and how their experiences shaped their worldview differently from her own. She found that what she was learning as an actor was applicable to her experiences with friends and students who came to her asking to be heard and understood as they worked through complex emotions and dealt with life’s struggles. She eventually decided to pursue a career in counseling to better learn and be able to help those in her community.

What you can expect from me

Mekayla earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University. During her time in the program, she worked as a Counseling Intern at Lifeologie Counseling. While earning two Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Performing Arts Studies from Lees-McRae College in the mountains of North Carolina, she also ran in Track & Field and spent 3 years partnered with the college counseling center as a peer ally in a role meant to help young adults transition emotionally and academically into college as smoothly as possible. Mekayla also spent her senior year of high school living on campus at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a student in their acting program. She has previous experience working in children’s theater teaching classes and directing performances. In these roles she enjoyed helping children and teens step into their own confidence and learn how to connect with others through character work, collaboration, and self-exploration.
