Great to meet you!

1. What should your client know about me?

Maybe I have become exceptionally good at appearing fine. You keep showing up, caring for everyone else, and carrying what happened—but inside, you feel anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or unsure who you are anymore.

I’m Melani Robles, a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 16 years of experience helping people navigate trauma, grief, relationship pain, identity questions, and major life transitions.

I do not believe therapy is about “fixing” you. You are not broken. The parts of you that feel anxious, guarded, angry, numb, or overly responsible may have developed to help you survive. Therapy can become a place where those parts no longer have to carry everything alone.

My style is warm, honest, affirming, and grounded. I welcome the whole person—including culture, identity, sexuality, relationships, and spirituality when those are meaningful to you. I am licensed in Arkansas and Mississippi and provide telehealth services where permitted. I explore with each unique person the best method and medium to share the vulnerability of their soul. This is the GREATEST honor and gift that someone can give me....to let me see them.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines meaningful insight with practical change. I use trauma-informed and Internal Family Systems-informed therapy to help you understand painful patterns with curiosity instead of shame.

Depending on your needs, I may also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, solution-focused work, positive psychology, and strengths-based counseling.

We will work collaboratively. I will not force a pace that does not feel emotionally safe, but I also will not leave you alone with patterns that continue hurting you.

Together, we may:

  • Explore how earlier experiences influence present relationships
  • Identify beliefs and protective responses that keep you stuck
  • Develop emotional-regulation and coping skills
  • Strengthen boundaries and communication
  • Reconnect you with your values, voice, and capacity for choice

For couples, I help slow painful cycles, uncover the deeper needs beneath conflict, and rebuild honesty, emotional safety, and connection. I also challenge and teach people how to step into healthy conflict and how to set boundaries that offer personal freedom!

What you can expect from me

You can expect to feel seen without being reduced to a diagnosis. Our early sessions will focus on understanding what brought you to therapy, what has helped or hurt in the past, and what meaningful change would look like in your actual life. We will establish clear goals together and revisit them as you grow.

Over time, our work may help you develop:

  • Greater self-trust and emotional awareness
  • Healthier boundaries
  • Stronger communication and coping skills
  • More compassion for yourself
  • A clearer understanding of the patterns beneath your pain
  • The courage to make choices aligned with your values

My hope is that therapy provides more than temporary relief. I want you to leave with language for what you feel, tools you can use between sessions, and a relationship with yourself that is no longer organized around shame or survival.

The goal is not perfection. It is freedom, connection, and a life that genuinely feels like yours.
