Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Melanie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the owner of Rise Again Counseling. I provide virtual therapy to teens and adults across Maine, supporting people through anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, and ongoing stress. My background includes working in outpatient mental health, and I’ve built my practice to be a place where people feel comfortable, understood, and supported as they work through what’s weighing on them.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and focused on real-life change. I work with you to understand what you’ve been through, how it’s affecting you now, and what you want to be different. Together, we build practical tools and strategies that fit your life, while also creating space to slow down and process things at your own pace. I see therapy as a collaborative process where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and what’s bringing you in, without pressure or judgment. You can expect a calm, supportive space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. We’ll talk through your goals, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and start identifying a plan that feels manageable and tailored to you. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and a little more grounded than when you came in.
