Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Melanie Sellers, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a master’s degree in Marriage, Couples & Family Counseling from George Fox University.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both neuroscience and the mind body connection. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely seen, understood, and empowered to better understand yourself, rather than simply a place to talk about what is wrong.

I specialize in anxiety, stress, relationships, women’s health, emotional regulation, self worth, attachment, and somatic healing. I integrate Cognitive Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and somatic approaches to help clients reconnect with their bodies, build confidence, and create meaningful change.

I am especially passionate about helping people who feel disconnected from themselves or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. My work explores the relationship between the nervous system, emotions, relationships, and the body, with an emphasis on developing greater self trust and resilience.

Whether you are navigating a major life transition, relationship challenges, anxiety, or simply feel ready to understand yourself on a deeper level, I would be honored to support you along the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative and holistic. I integrate evidence based therapeutic approaches with neuroscience and nature based practices to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, bodies, relationships and nervous systems.

I believe we are not separate from nature, but a part of it. Just as the seasons and our environment move through cycles of change, so do we. Our bodies and nervous systems are constantly responding to the world around us, and reconnecting with nature can offer a powerful pathway towards self understanding.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin creating a foundation for our work together. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you are currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process.

You can expect a relaxed, judgment free environment where you do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, relationships, goals, and what has been feeling difficult. We will also begin identifying areas of focus and discussing what you would like therapy to look like moving forward. Most importantly, the first session is about making sure we feel like a good fit. You are welcome to show up exactly as you are.
